Chaos Rising Cools as Out-of-Print Sealed Climbs (Market Movers)

Over the past month, out-of-print sealed like Shrouded Fable, Lost Origin and Silver Tempest climbed 20 to 32 percent while the newest set, Chaos Rising, slid back.

The Hype Cools, The Old Stuff Climbs

Week to week, sealed barely budges. Step back a month, though, and the picture gets clear.

Over the past 30 days, sealed has climbed almost across the board, and the biggest moves aren't where the hype is. The newest set is sliding while out-of-print boxes from years past keep grinding higher.

Let's break it down.

Out-of-Print ETBs Are Running

This is the heart of it.

Shrouded Fable leads the entire board. Its Elite Trainer Box is up 32% over the month, climbing from $100 to $133. It's a small set, it's out of print, and supply only gets tighter from here.

Lost Origin is right behind at +25% to $232, and it makes sense. This is the set that introduced Booster Bundles, with Giratina V Alternate Art as its anchor, and collectors keep coming back to it.

Silver Tempest added 22% to $172, continuing a run we've flagged before, with Lugia V Alternate Art doing the heavy lifting.

And it isn't only Sword & Shield. Paldean Fates, now rotated out, jumped 29% to $538, while Stellar Crown climbed 24% to $160.

Bundles Climbed Too

Booster Bundles followed the same script.

Obsidian Flames and Shrouded Fable both added 23%, and Lost Origin's Bundle kept pace at +22% to $173. The pattern is the same one we keep seeing: as sets age and rotate out, the cheaper, easier-to-move Bundle becomes the entry point buyers reach for first.

The Laggards: New Hype Cools Off

Now the other side of the board.

Chaos Rising, the newest set, is the clear laggard. We called this when it dropped: the pre-release euphoria fades as fast as it spikes. Its ETB is down 23% over the month and its Booster Bundle 21%, as fresh product keeps flooding retail.

And it isn't alone. Scarlet & Violet 151, one of the most hyped sets of the last two years, saw its Booster Bundle fall 17% as supply caught up, while Destined Rivals gave back 8% on its ETB after an earlier run.

One To Watch This Week

If you want the freshest signal, Black Bolt's ETB just popped 10% in the last seven days (and 16% over the month) to $142. That kind of short-term jump sometimes marks a set right as it starts its climb, so it's worth keeping an eye on into next week.

The Read

Here's the takeaway.

Money is rotating out of fresh hype and into out-of-print sealed. The newest names on the board cooled off, while older, rotated sets did the climbing.

This is the deflationary effect we keep coming back to. Once a set stops printing, there are no restocks and no fresh waves of supply, so every box that gets ripped, stored, or added to a collection makes the rest scarcer. Prices don't need mania to drift higher. They just need shrinking supply and steady interest.

One note on how we read this: we measure these moves over a full month, not week to week. Sealed is a slow market, and seven days is mostly noise. The month is where the trend actually shows up.

The market isn't crashing. It's maturing, getting selective, and rewarding scarcity. That's a healthy signal, and it's the same one we've been pointing at for weeks.
