Chase Society links to trading-card marketplaces so you can act on what you read here. Some of those links are affiliate links. This page explains what that means, plainly.
What an affiliate link is
When you click certain outbound links to a marketplace and make a purchase there, the marketplace may pay us a commission. The price you pay is the same either way. The commission comes out of the marketplace’s side of the transaction, not yours.
Who may pay us
We participate, or have applied to participate, in affiliate programs operated by marketplaces where trading cards are sold, including the eBay Partner Network and programs run by TCGplayer and GameStop. Links to these marketplaces from our pages, newsletter, or social posts may carry an affiliate tag.
What it does not change
Our coverage, prices, and rankings are computed from market data, not from commission rates. When we show where a card is cheapest, that answer comes from the listings themselves. A marketplace cannot pay to rank higher, and we do not adjust a comparison because one venue pays us and another does not. If a marketplace with no affiliate program has the best price, we show it anyway.
How you can tell
Surfaces that carry affiliate links are labeled with a short disclosure note near the links themselves, in addition to this page.
Cookies
Clicking an affiliate link takes you to the marketplace’s own site, which may set cookies under its own policy to attribute the referral. Those cookies live on the destination site, not ours. Our own data practices are described in the privacy policy.
